ORWELL - Helen Ann (Many) Ouellette, 76, died Saturday, September 29, 2012, peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones.
Mrs. Ouellette was born in Middlebury on May 4, 1936, the daughter of Jean and Clara (Cyr) Many. She received her early education in Salisbury and married Maurice Henry Ouellette on September 8, 1956, in Middlebury. Mrs. Ouellette had been employed at Middlebury College but spent most of her working life as a dairy farmer with her husband. After retirement from dairy farming, she became a childcare provider and a caregiver for the elderly.
Mrs. Ouellette was a communicant of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Orwell and was a member of Middlebury American Legion Auxiliary Post 27 and the Fair Haven Eagles Club. She loved gardening, cooking for family gatherings and cheating at cards.
Surviving are four sons, Randall Ouellette of Proctor, Ronald Ouellette of Seattle, Wash., Brian Ouellette of Salem, N.H., and Barry Ouellette of Hartford, N.Y.; four brothers, Robert Many, Raymond Many, Roland Many and Paul Many, all of Middlebury; four sisters, Doris Armell of Shelburne, Mary Buchanan of Burlington, Theresa Ouellette of Sudbury and Agnes Blow of Proctor; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband on January 6, 2007.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church in Orwell. The Reverend Henry Furman, pastor, will be the celebrant. The graveside committal service and burial will follow the Mass in the family lot in Mountain View Cemetery in Orwell. Immediately following, a celebration of life for Helen will be held at the VFW
in Middlebury, Post 7823, 530 Exchange St.
Friends may call at the Miller and Ketcham Funeral Home, 26 Franklin St., Brandon, on Friday, October 5, 2012, from 4 to 7 p.m.
