John K. Crosby

LEWISTON, Maine - John Kenneth Crosby, 59, formerly of Rutland, Vt., died at his home Saturday, May 11, 2013, following a long illness.

He was born Sept. 1, 1953, in Rutland, the son of Kenneth R. and Elizabeth M. (King) Crosby.

He grew up in Rutland, and was a graduate of Immaculate Heart of Mary School and Mount St. Joseph Academy.

He relocated to Lewiston in 1996, and was employed with Poland Spring Bottling.

He was a member of the American Legion, the Elks Club of Lewiston, and an officer with the Webber Avenue Club.

He was an avid sports fan, in particular the New England Patriots, the New York Yankees, and golf. He especially enjoyed fishing, both deep sea fishing and ice fishing. He also enjoyed cooking, entertaining, gardening and hanging plants.

Survivors include his wife, Karen (Gray) Crosby of Lewiston, formerly of Rutland, whom he married April 23, 1989; a son Toban John Crosby, and a daughter Kayla Dawn Crosby, both of Rutland; a sister, Diana del Giudice and her husband, Bill, of Pawlet, Vt.; several nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Sharon Crosby of Rutland. He was predeceased by his parents.
