Kenneth N. Johnson

NORTH BENNINGTON - Kenneth N. Johnson, 76, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at his home.

He was born July 23, 1937, in Bennington, the son of Frank and Alice (Dysczyk) Johnson.

He graduated in 1956 from Bennington High School. He was an Eagle Scout in Troop 56 and earned the "God and Country" award in 1951. He attended Purdue University and graduated from St. Joseph's Business College in Bennington.

After working as an accountant at Shea Wood Products, Eagle Square and Mack Molding, Mr. Johnson was self-employed as a public accountant for more than 40 years.

He was a member of the Bennington Elks Club and Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed collecting, fly-fishing, hunting, playing poker and trips to Maine.

Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Hess, whom he married in Arlington in 1957; a daughter, Joanne Peake of Georgia, Vt.; two sons, Keith Johnson of Bennington and Jamie Johnson of North Bennington; two grandchildren; a brother, Frank Johnson of Bennington; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2014, at Mahar and Son Funeral Home.

A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
