BENNINGTON - Lawrence I. "Tot" Farr, 79, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at his residence, following a long illness.
He was born Nov. 8, 1933, in Lincoln, the son of Harvey and Pauline Farr.
He received his education in Bristol where he played basketball and baseball while in high school.

In earlier years, he was employed on highway construction projects around the state and also worked as a driver for Merrill Transport. He retired after driving 27 years for St. Johnsbury Express, while achieving the "A Million Miles of Accident Free Driving" award.
He was an avid hunter and Boston Red Sox fan.
Survivors include his wife, Louise (Casey) Farr of Bennington, whom he married Oct. 18, 1958, in Bristol; three daughters, Kelly Langlais of Sunderland, Colleen Sausville and Pamela Farr, both of Bennington; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Farr of Bristol; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Farr was predeceased by three children, Cheryl Conklin, Steven and William Farr; and a brother, Harvey Farr.
The funeral will be held at noon Tuesday, Sept. 3, at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home where friends may call from 11 a.m. prior to the service. No suits or ties, per his request.
Burial with military honors will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
