BENNINGTON - Mary H. "Peggy" Clemons, 72, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.
She was born April 5, 1940, in South Londonderry, the daughter of Pascal Earl Wilkins and Maxine Elliot (Penny) Wilkins.
She was educated in the Londonderry and Bennington schools.
On Jan. 12, 1957, she married Warren Walter Clemons. He died July 20, 1987. She later was engaged to George "Sonny" Pacher. He died April 14, 2006.
She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed fishing and dancing. She also enjoyed watching soap operas, puzzle books and crocheting.
Survivors include her children, Brenda Cornell Keen of Shaftsbury, Donna Jones of Bennington, Mona Brown of Stephentown, N.Y., Winn Clemons of Bennington, Wanda Leddick of Vermont, Terry Poole of Maine, Eric Pacher, Joel Pacher, Angie Brace, Kathy Mayer, and April Pacher Hunt, all of Bennington, and Sandra Smith of Chester; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, Pascal Wilkins of South Londonderry; a sister, Sandra Prenezi of Plano, Texas; several nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother Ronald Wilkins, and a sister Lillian Cook.
The funeral will be held at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at 11 a.m.
Entombment will take place in Park Lawn Chapel, with the burial to be in Park Lawn Cemetery in the spring.
