Raymond C. Patch Jr.

Raymond Claire Patch Jr., 85, of West Rutland died unexpectedly Monday afternoon, April 29, 2013, at the Genesis Elder Care Mountain View Center surrounded by his daughters.

He was born on June 5, 1927, in East Wallingford, the son of Raymond and Hazel (Jewell) Patch.

Mr. Patch enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII, prior to his honorable discharge.

He married Mary E. Pecott on December 1, 1951, in Poultney.

Mr. Patch was employed by the General Electric Company for 33 years prior to his retirement in 1989.

He was a lifetime member of the Rutland Beagle Club and had served on the Board of Directors and as a vice president.

Mr. Patch was a member of St. Bridget's Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Parrott and son-in-law Richard of Chippenhook, and Tammy Potter of Clarendon; a granddaughter Sara Potter; great-grandchildren Hunter and Ava; two sisters, Doris Spafford of Baltimore, VT, and Judy Edmunds of Rutland; three brothers, Leslie Patch of Rutland, David Patch of Clarendon Springs, and Marvin Patch of Mount Holly; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Mary on December 31, 2010, a son William Patch in 1952, two brothers Francis Patch in 1999, and Robert Patch in 1995, and a son-in-law Franklin Potter in 2005.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Aldous Funeral Home.

Burial with military honors will follow in St. Raphael's Cemetery in Poultney.

There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Aldous Funeral Home.
