WEST RUTLAND - Robert F. Blake Sr., 66, of West Rutland, died unexpectedly Monday, December 9, 2013, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center.
He was born on September 6, 1947, in Springfield, the son of Louis and Nicola (Barbetti) Blake.
Mr. Blake attended the Springfield schools. He was employed by the Jones and Lamson machine shop in Springfield, Coke Cola Co. for 24 years and for many years in the vending industry, retiring in 2005. Following his retirement, he worked at Main Street Cash Market in West Rutland. He also owned and operated an office coffee service for many years.
He married Patricia Chandler on December 18, 1993, in Peacham, Vt.
Mr. Blake enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles (either two or three wheels), hunting, especially with flintlock muzzleloaders, fishing, ATV riding, collecting guns and knives. He loved country music.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose
Lodge 1122, Muzzleloaders of America and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3907.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Blake, a daughter, Mia Genovesi, and his former wife, Nancy Lemire Basile, all of West Rutland, several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; sons, Kenneth J. Blake on April 21, 1980, and Robert F. Blake Jr. on March 22, 2008; a sister, Betty Minchenko, and a brother, Pete Blake; a niece, Dorothy Barbour, and a nephew, Tony Minchenko.
Friends may call on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Aldous Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Peter Church.
