Sharon A. Hunt

ST. JOHNSBURY - Sharon Ann Hunt, 58, died April 30, 2012, in St. Johnsbury.

She was born Dec. 13, 1953, in Newport, the daughter of Ellis and Marion "Midge" Orne Hunt.

She graduated from Green Mountain Union High School in Chester and in 1976, from the College of St. Joseph the Provider in Rutland.

In special education for more than 35 years, she taught at Green Mountain Union High School in Chester, in Hardwick and at Gilman-Lunenburg School District.

She was a member of Emerald Rebekah Lodge #33 of Waterbury Center, an associate member of Olive Branch #4 of St. Johnsbury and Noble Grand Olive Branch. She was district deputy president and assembly president of the Rebekah Assembly of Vermont, as well as state representative of International Association of Rebekah Assemblies, a member of the International Choir and a state soloist. She was also a trustee at Gill Odd Fellows in Ludlow.

She taught chorus and music, enjoyed traveling and was a fan of auto racing and football, especially the New England Patriots.

Survivors include her mother of Barton; a brother, Dennis Hunt of Westford, Mass.; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport, where friends may call from noon prior to the service officiated by the Rev. Gerry Piper.
