Wayne C. DeVaul, 65, of Rutland died at home Sunday, June 8, 2014, after a long illness.
He was born March 31, 1949, in East Meadow, N.Y., the son of Clarence and Irene (Freberg) DeVaul. Mr. DeVaul grew up in Levittown, N.Y., where he graduated from Levittown Memorial High School in 1968.
Wayne was an accomplished guitarist, songwriter and vocalist. He was an avid fisherman and lover of nature who saw beauty in all things great and small.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Leigh Jary; his sisters Marion, April, Sheryl, Nona and Denise; his brothers Darrell, Paul, and Lance and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Karen.
A memorial celebration of his life and music will be held 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at the Loyal Order of Moose Club, 76 Center St., Rutland.
