CORNWALL - Alfred Roy Edson, 77, died Friday, March 2, 2018, at University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
He was born Jan. 16, 1941, in Addison, the son of Roy and Rose (Laplante) Edson.
He graduated in 1960 from Vergennes Union High School.
Mr. Edson married Nancy LaFountain Nov. 7, 1964.
He owned and operated Al's Dairy Equipment Inc. for 43 years and Sunset Hill Farm Garden and Nursery in Cornwall for the last nine years.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Mr. Edson enjoyed gardening, flowers, fishing, hunting, tractor pulls and racing snowmobiles.
Survivors include his wife, of Cornwall; his son, Randy Edson, of Orwell, and his daughter, Shelly Edson, of Cornwall; his sister, Marion Holcomb, of Hinesburg; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a niece, two great-nephews, a great-niece and numerous cousins.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main St., Middlebury.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, March 9, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Luke Austin as the celebrant.
Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery.
