NASHUA, N.H. - Armenia "Dolly" Hallisey, 76, of Nashua, widow of Robert J. Hallisey, died early Monday morning, August 4th, 2008, at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, following a long illness. A resident of Nashua for many years, Mrs. Hallisey was born in Proctor, Vermont, on August 7, 1931, daughter of the late John and Mary Grace Gianola.
Dolly resided in Proctor, Vt., during her youth and was a graduate of Proctor High School in 1949. She continued her education at Becker Junior College in Worcester, Mass., where she earned an associate degree in medical administration.
Mrs. Hallisey enjoyed crocheting and ten-pin bowling. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her 11 grandchildren. Mrs. Hallisey was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church.
In addition to her parents, Dolly was predeceased by her husband, Robert, who died in April 2005; a sister, Anna Navari; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Nicholas Gianola, Anthony and Marie Gianola, James and Marie Gianola and Patricia Gianola.
Members of her family include two sons, David Anderson and his wife Donna and their children, Sarah and Shannon, all of Gilford; Mark Anderson and his wife Jane and their children, Christopher, Rebecca, Derrick and Trevor, all of Brookline; a daughter, Cynthia Poth and her son, Joshua Poth, of Alton; three stepchildren and their spouses, Russell and Diane Hallisey and their children, Laura and Ryan, of Medfield, Mass., Kathleen and William Clark of Diamond Bar, California, and Robert and Vanessa Hallisey and their children, Darlee and Connor, of Anaheim, California; a brother, Christian Gianola of White Plains, N.Y.; a sister, Carmen Gianola of Proctor, Vt.; a brother-in-law, Peter Navari of Proctor, Vt.; a sister-in-law, Eva Gianola of Rutland, Vt.; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday morning at Immaculate Conception Church in Nashua, N.H. Committal services will take place at St. Dominic's Cemetery in Proctor, Vt., on Saturday at 1 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of the Farwell Funeral Service, Nashua, NH.
