CHESTER - Barbara Record Bliss, 77, of Chester, Vt., and Zephyrhills, Fla., died peacefully at the Gulfside Hospice Center in Zephyrhills, May 20, 2014, with her loved ones at her side.

She was born in Grafton, Vt., June 27, 1936, to Wayland Record and Virginia Record Fielder. She graduated from Chester High School in 1954 and married her high school sweetheart Robert Bliss of Chester.
Barbara was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post# 67, a past president of the Chester Alumni Association and den mother for the Cub Scouts.
She owned and operated two restaurants in Chester, The Village Luncheonette and Bob's Keg and Kettle. She also made wedding cakes in her younger years and later enjoyed doing ceramics and other crafts with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Robert A., and her son, Robert C. Bliss. She is survived by her daughter Deborah Pooler and husband Earl, of Zephyrhills, Fla., her son Rock Bliss and his girlfriend Amy Smith of Chester, Vt., two grandchildren, Melissa Jarrell and her husband Ernie and Kelly Geiger and her husband Terry, as well as four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at the Adams Funeral Home in Chester at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 14, with a remembrance gathering at The Bliss Farm on High Street.
In lieu of flowers, it was Barbara's wish that donations be made to the Bliss Farm Family Scholarship Fund. Donations can be sent to: One Credit Union, P.O. Box 998, Chester, VT 05143.
