BENNINGTON - Beatrice V. Forrest, 95, died May 18, 2012, at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center, following a long illness.

She was born in Hartford, Conn., April 10, 1917, the daughter of Thomas F. and Beatrice (Goady) Maroney.
She graduated in 1934 from St. Joseph's Business College in Bennington, currently Southern Vermont College.
On Oct. 8, 1938, she married Edward S. Forrest in Bennington. Mr. Forrest died in 1979.
In earlier years, Mrs. Forrest was employed in the office of Attorney George Hanford and later at F.W. Woolworth. She retired from the Benn Pastry and Coffee Shop.
She was a member of Sacred Heart St. Frances de Sales Parish.
Mrs. Forrest enjoyed camping, barbecues, cooking, baking, as well as crocheting, sewing and ceramics. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include two children, Judy Fairbanks of Abingdon, Va., and Gary Forrest of Bennington; nine grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, 15 step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Green and Katherine Maroney, both of Bennington; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Richard Forrest; and six siblings, Edwin, Ronald, Norbert and Thomas Maroney, Shirley Harris and Allena Legacy.
A prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home followed by the 10:30 a.m. Mass at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church and burial in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at the funeral home.
