WOODSTOCK - Catherine E. Potwin Baker, 94, died May 9, 2009, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

She was born Dec. 27, 1914, in Barnard, the daughter of Harold L. and Merle Ethel (Loura) Potwin.

She received her education at South Royalton High School.

She married Marshall J. Fowler on March 6, 1932. She later married Charles William Linscott on Oct. 12, 1981; Mr. Linscott died in 1993. She married Walter P. Baker on Nov. 4, 1995; Mr. Baker predeceased her five days prior.

Mrs. Baker worked for Kingsbury Machine Co. in Keene, N.H., American Optical in Brattleboro and Miniature Precision Bearings in Keene.

She enjoyed hooking and braiding rugs, hunting, fishing and trapping.

Survivors include a son, Marshall James of Marlboro, N.H., and Goochland, Va.; two stepdaughters, Rachel Archer of Bridgewater and Jean Johnson of Barnard; a brother, Romaine Potwin of East Barnard; three sisters, Rita Bumps of Middlebury, Vera Dickinson of Sharon and Arcadia, Fla., and Ramona Davenport of Halifax, Mass.; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren, 17 step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was also predeceased by seven brothers, Vincent, Robert, Gerald, Nelson, Harold, Louis and Roger; three sisters, Louise Fisher, Marjorie Jones and Barbara Rhodes; and a stepdaughter, Beverly Jennings.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, at the Cabot Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, at Barnard Town Hall.

Burial will be in Baker Hill Cemetery in Bridgewater Center.
