STRATFORD, Conn. - Doris A. (Wade) Black, age 93, of Stratford, the widow of Thomas Black, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013, in Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center, Stratford.

Mrs. Black, a retired employee of General Electric, was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, to the late Walter and Margaret (Sullivan) Wade, and has been a longtime area resident.
Survivors include her beloved son, Robert Black and his wife, Doreen of Stratford; two cherished granddaughters, Patricia Morrow and her husband, Jason and Kathleen McManus and her husband, Michael; three great-grandchildren, Jack, Grace, and Brody; a sister, Elsie Petrizzo of Stratford; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Doris was pre-deceased by her brothers, Donald, Earl and Walter.
Mrs. Black's family would like to thank the 2nd Floor Staff of Lord Chamberlain HCC for their kind and loving care.
Funeral services will take place Monday, December 23, at 9:45 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church, Stratford, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in the spring in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Wallingford, VT. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, December 22, from 2 to 5 p.m.
