WEST RUTLAND - Douglas L. Trepanier, 37, of West Rutland, passed Friday, March 2, 2018, at Timberlyn Heights Rehabilitation Center in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. He sustained a traumatic brain injury from an automobile accident on July 17, 2017, and suffered health complications due to his injury. He was only 37 years old and left us way too soon.
Born in Rutland, Vermont, on Dec. 21, 1980, the son of Leo H. and Kathleen A. (Hyjek) Trepanier Jr., Doug was a graduate of West Rutland High School class of 1998. After graduating high school, he was employed by Killington Wood Products in West Rutland. For the last 15 years, Doug was found on the construction crew at Fabian Earth Moving, where his co-workers were his second family.
March 9, 2006, Doug married Debra J. Moore, many remember them as always being together. On Dec. 17, 2017, Debra passed due to stomach cancer.
When Doug wasn't working, he could be found with his friends and mostly, his buddy, Harley, his Yellow Labrador. He enjoyed spending time at Randy's hunting camp with his friends, countless hours restoring his Jeep, and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Doug was always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend in need. Doug's happy-go-lucky attitude will forever be remembered, and his sense of humor will never be forgotten. Doug was blessed with many friends, and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his mother, Kathy and companion Robert, his father, Leo and companion Linda, all of West Rutland; his sister, Valerie Carrara and husband Dana and two nieces Isabella and Julia Carrara, of Castleton.
Calling hours for Douglas and graveside services for both Doug and Deb will be held in the Spring of 2018 in Sacred Heart Cemetery in West Rutland.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland and West Rutland.
