WHITE RIVER JUNCTION - Edward G. Wright, 87, died May 6, 2012, at Mount Ascutney Skilled Nursing Facility in Windsor.

He was born Sept. 5, 1924, in the Maplerow Farm family home in White River Junction, where he lived his entire life, the son of Seaver D. and Helen (Gillette) Wright.
He graduated from Hartford High School in 1942 and attended the University of Vermont for a time before returning to work on the family dairy farm.
Mr. Wright was a member of Windsor County Farm Bureau and a life member of Vermont Jersey Breeder Association, New England Jersey Breeder Association and American Jersey Cattle Association. He and his brothers received the Master Breeder Award in 1995.
He was also a member of White River Junction United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed traveling around the back roads, auctions, and horse and oxen pulls at regional fairs. He was a Boston sports fan of the Red Sox, Celtics and New England Patriots.
Survivors include a brother, Harold Wright of White River Junction, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Mr. Wright was predeceased by two brothers, Seaver and Donald Wright, as well as a nephew.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 11, at White River Junction United Methodist Church.
