BRANDON - Frank A. Elnicki, 59, died April 16, 2013, at his home in Brandon.

He was born in Rutland, January 14, 1954, the eldest son of Frank P. and Aurelia (Nelson) Elnicki.

Frankie attended Christ the King and graduated from Rutland High School, Class of 1972, where he excelled as a student-athlete. He was the Vermont State Champion and held the New England short distance running champion record in Track & Field, holding his titles for many years.

His athletic ability transferred into body building where he competed in weight lifting at the national level. He opened Country Health and Fitness in the '70s and later co-founded The Spa.

Frankie was also a gifted musician who enjoyed playing lead guitar, often playing on the Mountain with his friends at local venues. He was an avid music lover and artist, who practiced wood carving as well.

Frank's lifelong work was in earth moving as a skilled equipment operator, beginning with his father's company and later with other general contractors throughout the country, including renowned golf course designer Robert Trent Jones. His equipment skills were unparalleled; he had an artistic eye and hand that could transform any landscape.

Frank was a loving dedicated father to his children and family.

During the past several years, he worked for Earth Waste and Metal in their New York, Tennessee and Vermont facilities.

Surviving are two sons, Shane Mitchell Elnicki of Bowdoin Center, ME, and Gregory Paul Elnicki of Pittsford; a daughter, Francesca Aurelia Elnicki of Saco, ME; two brothers, Jeffery Elnicki and companion, June Odeneal of Manchester, TN, and Kevin Elnicki (and Stephanie) of Pittsford; a sister, Sharon Herbert and companion, David Snow of Brandon; and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind former spouses, Terri Greenwood-DeForge and Christine Elnicki.

He was predeceased by his parents, Frank P. (2008) and Aurelia Elnicki (2001).

Calling hours will be held at the Clifford Funeral Home next Friday, April 26, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. next Saturday, April 27, 2013, at St. Dominic's Church in Proctor. Burial will follow.
