Gladys St. Peter, 82, of Rutland, died Saturday morning, October 13, 2012, on what would have been her 61st wedding anniversary, at the Genesis Elder Care Mountain View Center, following a long illness.

She was born on December 27, 1929, in Proctor, the daughter of Swedish immigrants John Hjalmer and Anna Sophia (Torpfeld) Dahlin.
Mrs. St. Peter grew up in Proctor and graduated from the Proctor High School in 1948; while in school, she played basketball and softball.
She was employed by Cornish Wire prior to working at the Holiday Inn for 20 years, retiring in 1994.
Mrs. St. Peter enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, reading, flower gardening and her animals.
She attended the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Proctor.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathie Cesarski and her husband George of Rutland and Karen Senif and her husband Steve of Florence; her feline companions, Callie and Peepers; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon St. Peter, on July 13, 1992; also by five sisters, Gunhild Whittemore, Blanche Hall, Helen Brown, Lilly Laaksonen and Alice Mayer; and two brothers, Leonard Dahlin and Harold Dahlin.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Aldous Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call from 12 noon until the service on Wednesday at the Aldous Funeral Home.
