Dear Pete, Gloria, Brock, Althea, and Ashley,
Our Hearts ache for you all with the sad news of Glen's passing. We felt blessed to have known Glen. He was a bright and talented guy with an awesome personality and a funny sincere man. Jo remembers the time when he got her to eat the hot peppers and then wanted her to drink water, she laughs at that memory. It was an honor to attend his service. Glen we thank you for your service, honor and integrity. The skies now have the brightest star shining over us. God Bless You Glen! Love, Jo Lonesky and Chad Lonesky Hannigan

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to SFC Glenn Lowell our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Glenn. And to Glenn it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for his service in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedoms and for the selfless sacrifices he made for his country while serving with the U.S. Army. No greater love and patriotism is shown than a man dedicate his life in service to his country. Glenn, you are a brave Army Warrior and a true Patriot. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,261 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Glenn's family and loved ones.

Also to Glens family. Best wishes. Glen was a loved freind and had a big heart. You must have done so well with raising him. He was a very humble soldier which is rare around here and was always looking out for his friends. He was always a funny full of life person and I look forward to seeing him again. I'm sorry for his family sadness of having such a loss. Ill miss getting into trouble with you. Wish there was more men like Glen I could call my freind but there still are very few like him. See you again Glen and to the family sorry for your loss.

November 17, 2012

Glenn,
I love you brother; it's still extremely difficult for me to come to terms with the fact that you have moved on without us, but I have faith that you are now watching over us from the Heavens. Emma had her first birthday last Monday the 12th of November 2012, and as we celebrated her first birthday we celebrated your extraordinary life. As she made her first birthday wish, I also made a wish. They say if you tell your wish it will not come true, but I have confidence this one will. Brother, I wished for your family, loved ones, friends, and your brothers in arms to have the strength needed this weekend to say their final goodbyes as you are laid to rest in Benson. I wished that everyone remembers your achievements, your goodwill, your outstanding personality and scene of humor, the fact that you moved past the dark days and into the bright, you found the love of your life and you were never afraid to express it, you lived life to the fullest, and you loved your mother. It says a lot about a man's character when he still loves his mother just as much at 33yo as he did when he was 3yo. Glenn, I pray you're in good hands now and that you continue to watch over and protect us as you did when you were still with us. “Death ends a life, not a relationship”. I'll see you again one day brother; you'll be forever missed!
God Bless, The Anderson Family

My deepest condolences go out to the Lowell family. Words are inadequate to express the sadness that everyone is feeling. Glenn was one of the good guys; and it is a tragedy that he had to leave us at such a young age. I take solace in knowing that he is now one of god's angels, gone to heaven to look after us. RIP Glenn.

Pete, Gloria, Brock, Althea and Ashley. No one can know your heartache, unless they too, have experienced the loss of a loved one. Certainly, no one can tell you when the pain will lessen but it will, in time. All you can do is hold on to the love that you shared with Glenn and all those special moments captured forever in your hearts. May God bless your family. Please accept our deepest sympathy and know our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Glenn may you rest in peace and thank you for proudly serving and protecting us all.

Because of our difference in age I didn't know Glenn well, but I do know it takes a special person to be a Green Beret, to live that life everyday, to serve your country wherever and whenever they need you...be proud of what he accomplished, know that he lived his life the way he wanted, full of laughter, fun, and risk...he seemed like he believed in the saying "work hard, play harder". I am sure he would want you to remember him with smiles and laughter; which may seem impossible to do now, but I hope in time you find peace in knowing he is up in Heaven watching over all of you...probably causing trouble...lol Shed your tears Pete, Gloria, Althea, Brock and Ashley and then smile for him and feel your heart swell with love.
