FAIR HAVEN - James Adam Bucci, 68, of Fair Haven, VT, died Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 28, 2018, at the Mountain View Center in Rutland, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer.
He was born on Nov. 9, 1949, in Ithaca, NY, the son of Adam and Ethal (Pemberton) Bucci.
Mr. Bucci graduated from the Charles O. Dickerson High School in Trumansburg, NY, in 1967.
He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge.
Mr. Bucci began a career in sales, working as an assistant sales manager for Babcock Industries Inc., in Ithaca, NY. He relocated to Poultney in 1980 where he was employed by the Journal Press as their sales manager for 25 years. After meeting his wife, Ann, he moved to Fair Haven in 1989. Following his retirement from Journal Press, he was employed at the Skene Valley Country Club as a greens keeper, where he loved manicuring the greens.
Jim loved the game of golf, which he learned from his father. He played in many local and state tournaments where he made many friends. He loved helping people improve their golf game. Jim was a lifelong fan of Syracuse basketball. He was a member of the Skene Valley Country Club and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Ellis, of Fair Haven; a daughter, Sara Green, of SC; two sons Nickolas Bucci and his fiancée, Cathy, of Homer, NY, and Patrick Bucci, of SC; two sisters Marcia Parks, of Lansing, NY, and Karen Murray and her husband, Ted, of Trumansburg, NY; his mother-in-law, Jane Ellis, of Fair Haven; four grandchildren; his beloved Golden Retriever, Callie; a niece and two nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother-in-law, Ronald Parks.
Friends may call on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Durfee Funeral Home, 119 North Main St., Fair Haven, VT.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Fair Haven.
