ST. JOHNSVILLE, N.Y. - James "Jim" King, 74, died May 25, 2012, at Mountain Valley Hospice.

He was born March 6, 1938, in Benson, Vt., the son of Irving and Elinor (Howard) King.
He owned and operated Kingvue Holsteins dairy farm in Jordanville for almost 20 years and was a member of the Holstein Club, Farm Bureau and Milk Promotion Board. After retiring, he was employed by HFM BOCES as a custodian and bus driver.
Mr. King was a town assessor, planning board member and active in various organizations.
He enjoyed woodworking, reading and daily post office runs for Judy King Insurance.
Survivors include five children, Michael King, Christine Nellis, both of Fort Plain, Doreen DeGroff of Oswego, Andrea Winslow of Pittsford, Vt., and Julie Bushart of Selkirk; a sister, Linda Pellitier of Fair Haven, Vt.; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased in 2010 by his wife of 48 years, Julia "Judy" (Mares) King.
The service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, at Jordanville Federated Church on Main Street, followed by burial in Cemetery of the Columbia Reformed Church, Richfield Springs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville, NY 12078.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Enea Family Funeral Home in St. Johnsville.
