WEST RUTLAND - John F. Krempa Jr., 85, died Feb. 25, 2018, at his home.
He was born in West Rutland, Oct. 1, 1932, son of John F. and Sophie (Jagodzinski) Krempa Sr.
John was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.
He married Joyce Farnsworth on June 23, 1956, in St. Genevieve Church in Shoreham.
John was employed at General Electric Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1994. He also worked at Vermont Marble Co., Stasil Co. in Poultney and Potter's Garage in West Rutland. He recently was a crossing guard in Rutland.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Rutland American Legion Post 31, Knights of Columbus. John was an assistant superintendent of Vermont State Fair Rabbit Assn. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Krempa, of West Rutland; two daughters Jane Walczuk and husband David, of West Rutland, Patricia Krempa; a son, David Krempa, of West Rutland; a sister, Jane Kelley, of West Rutland; three grandchildren Mary Terrell, Sara Walczuk, Katie Walczuk.
He was predeceased by a brother, Rev. Adam Krempa, several half-brothers and -sisters, stepbrothers and -sisters.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.
Burial will be at a later date in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Mullin-Clifford Funeral Home in West Rutland.
