DERBY - Kayla H. Nedobity, 22, of Derby and a former resident of Benson, died Saturday, July 21, 2012, in Coventry, Vt., due to an automobile accident.
She was born on August 29, 1989, in Middlebury.
In Rutland, Kayla graduated from the Mount St. Joseph Academy in 2007 and the College of St. Joseph in 2010; while in school, she played hockey and was a cheerleader. She was taking summer classes with the Springfield College in St. Johnsbury studying for her bachelor's degree in human services.
She married Frank Nedobity on July 31, 2010.
Kayla was employed by the Creative Minds Preschool in Newport Center as a head teacher.
She enjoyed dogs.
Kayla had a unique sense of humor and liked to make everyone laugh.
She had been a member of the 4-H Club for several years.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Nedobity of Derby; her parents, Paul and Carrie LaFond of Schenectady, N.Y.; two sisters, Sarah Hillier and Amanda Hillier, both of Schenectady, N.Y.; stepbrothers Jason LaFond and Paul LaFond; maternal grandparents Guy and Rita Charlton of Benson; maternal great-grandmother Charlotte Collette of Fair Haven; father- and mother-in-law Frank and Sally Nedobity, brother-in-law Paul Nedobity, all of Derby; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Durfee Funeral Home, 119 North Main St., Fair Haven.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Durfee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
