BRIDGEWATER CORNERS - Marilyn E. Blodgett, 85, died Nov. 5, 2010, at the Gill Odd Fellows Home in Ludlow.

She was born Feb. 2, 1925, in Bridgewater Corners, the daughter of Clifford N. and Vera (Furman) Earle.

Marilyn's senior year in high school was spent in Springfield at the Jones and Lamson plant working in the office to help in the war effort. She returned to Woodstock High School and graduated with her class in 1943.

She married Clifford A. Blodgett in 1948, he predeceased her in 1979. Together they raised three children.

She was a bookkeeper by trade. She worked for Shiretown Inc., for many years. She also worked at Shear Images for 18 years as a bookkeeper and receptionist.

Her favorite hobbies were dancing and she loved to visit friends.

Marilyn is survived by a son Thomas C. Blodgett of Orford, N.H., a daughter Linda B. Atwood of Woodstock, three grandchildren, brothers Robert Earle and Carroll Earle both of Bridgewater and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, a daughter Charlene Blodgett McDonald, brothers Ernest Earle and Edwin Earle, sisters Florence Frost and Naida Geno.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8 at at the Bridgewater Congregational Church with Beverly Anderson, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Topliff Cemetery in Bridgewater Corners.

There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock.
