BELLOWS FALLS - Mary H. Sampson, 75, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Cheshire Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 25, 1937, in Bellows Falls, the daughter of Iola (Barrows) and Philip Tidd Sr.
She attended St. Charles School and was a 1955 graduate of Bellows Falls High School. She was also a graduate of the New England School of Fashion & Design in Boston, Mass., and lived in Boston until she married.
She was a buyer for Grover Cronin in Waltham, Mass., and also worked at McGirr Nursing Home for 31 years.
She was the Bellows Falls Bicentennial Queen in 1953.
She enjoyed knitting, sewing and gardening.
On Oct. 28, 1961, she married Herman Sampson, who predeceased her.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Sampson of West Springfield, Mass., and Stephen Sampson of Rutland; three daughters, Cathy Chamberlin of Bellows Falls, Jo-Ann Badar of Fairview Park, Ohio, and Janice Grassie of Holmer, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and a great-grandson. She was predeceased by a brother, Philip "Bud" Tidd.
There will be a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at St. Charles Church in Bellows Falls, with burial to follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Bellows Falls.
