POULTNEY - Nancy E. Parker, 74, a longtime resident of Poultney died Sunday evening June 1, 2014 at the Mountain View Center in Rutland.

She was born on November 1, 1939, in Hampton, N.Y., the daughter of Harry and Gretchen (Williams) Winters.
Mrs. Parker graduated from Poultney High School in 1957.
She operated a day care for the U.S. Military on one of the Aleutian Islands in Alaska, and following her return to Poultney, she was employed by Tambrands for several years.
She had been a Girl Scout leader and a longtime volunteer at the Poultney Rescue Squad thrift shop.
Mrs. Parker enjoyed reading, puzzles and gardening.
Survivors include her two daughters, Tina Jones and Rebecca Cook and her husband, Jason, all of Poultney; four grandchildren, Sarah Jones of Maryland, Andrew Jones, Christopher Cook and Olivia Cook all of Poultney; a brother, William Winters of Poultney; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her son, Russell Parker, in 1971; her sister, Janice Richardson, and a grandson, Joshua Parker.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Poultney Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Durfee Funeral Home, 119 North Main Street, Fair Haven.
