Samuel F. Rizzico Sr., 88, died November 12, 2012, at The Pines at Rutland.
He was born on February 29, 1924, in Rutland, son of Louis and Mary (Bizzaro) Rizzico.
Mr. Rizzico attended St. Peter's School and was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy.
Sam married Grace Deletoso on September 2, 1950, in St. Peter's Church.
For many years, he was a foreman at General Electric.
He was a U.S. Navy WWII and Korean conflict veteran.
Mr. Rizzico was a member of St. Peter's Church, Rutland American Legion Post 31, Knights of Columbus and VFW.
He enjoyed fishing and coin collecting. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Grace Mary Rizzico; three daughters, Helen L. Hadley and husband David of Waterbury, Conn., Rosemary Rizzico of Brandon, Theresa Ann DelVecchio and husband Michael of Branford, Conn.; son, Samuel F. Rizzico Jr. and wife Amy of Manchester, Mass.; sisters, Phyllis St. Peter of Rutland, Carmela Vincenguerra of Rutland, Jean Ann Lavictoire of Chippenhook and Josephine O'Byrn of Lemonte, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Eric F. Zizis, Anne Gianni-Euber, Alyssa T. Dunn, Brian D. Hadley, Ava R. Rizzico, Samuel F. Rizzico III, Alec B. Rizzico; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by four brothers, Joseph "Pip" Rizzico, Alfred "Sonny" Rizzico, Louis "Gigi" Rizzico and Francis Rizzico; two sisters, Eleanor Selva and Mary Woods.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Christ the King Church.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Clifford Funeral Home.
