WEST RUPERT - Sheila G. Morey, 73, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 3, 1944, in Bennington, the daughter of Charles and Luella (Young) Breen.
She graduated in 1961 from North Bennington High School and attended Putnam Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Bennington where she received her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Ms. Morey first worked at Putnam Memorial Hospital and Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, New York, for 10 years. She was then employed at Indian River Nursing Home in Granville, New York, Equinox Terrace Assisted Living in Manchester and retired in June 2017 as a private duty LPN.
She was a member of Rupert Congregational Church, the Farm Bureau, the Home Dem and Green Mountain Grange in Rupert, as well as a 4-H leader in West Rupert.
She enjoyed camping, hiking, kayaking, fishing and attending Pow Wows.
Survivors include her children Keith Morey, of Rupert, Glenn Morey, of West Rupert, Ellen Morey Crawford, of West Arlington; her siblings Valerie Knapp, of Dekalb Junction, New York, Nora Hunter, of North Springfield, Michael Breen, of Bennington, Paul Breen, of Orwell; eight grandchildren, a great-grandson; nieces and nephews.
Ms. Morey was predeceased by a brother, Jerry Breen; and on Jan. 6, 2017, by her longtime companion, Delbert Tifft.
Services will be held at a later date in Rupert Cemetery.
