WARDSBORO - Christie Lynn Archer, 35, the heart and soul of her family, passed away surrounded by loved ones on November 3, 2011, at her home in Wardsboro, Vt. She was born on February 22, 1976, to Donald Thomas Sr. and Sandra (Adams) Thomas in Brattleboro, Vt. Christie spent most of her childhood in Townshend. She attended Townshend Elementary School, Leland & Gray Union High School, as well as the Brattleboro Career Center.

For many years, Christie was the friendly face behind the front desk at the Stratton Mountain Inn. Christie had strong work ethics and was loved and appreciated by guests and coworkers alike. Christie married her high school sweetheart, Mark Archer Jr., on August 23, 1997. They have a son, Kenneth William Archer, who was her pride and joy. She was a fantastic mom and devoted much of her spare time chaperoning field trips, coaching, scorekeeping and helping out in her community.

Family was the center of Christie's life. Her family and friends could always count on her for anything they needed or just a "Christie" Talk. Christie loved family trips, camping and fishing. She was an avid Red Sox fan and really enjoyed going to games. Christie, Mark and Kenny went to the Maine coast as often as they could. She loved being at the ocean. One of her happiest moments was spent going fishing with people she loved.

Christie had an amazing sense of humor. Her outlook on life and positive attitude enhanced the lives of everyone around her. She was sweet, kind and generous. The simple things in life made her happy.

Christie's incredible strength, courage and love for life were truly inspiring. She was a faithful wife, loving mother, devoted daughter, supportive sister, caring granddaughter, awesome aunt and wonderful niece. In her family's eyes, Christie was an angel here on Earth. The time we had with her was precious and we will always cherish those memories.

Christie Lynn (Thomas) Archer is survived by her husband, Mark Archer Jr.; her son, Kenneth William Archer; her mother, Sandra (Adams) Thomas; her father, Donald Thomas Sr.; her two brothers, Adam Thomas, Donald Thomas Jr. and his son Wyatt Thomas; her grandmother, Charlotte (Buffum) Adams; several aunts, uncles, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is and always will be loved by all.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Wardsboro Methodist Church with graveside committal services and interment following in Oakwood Cemetery, Townshend. A reception will follow at the Wardsboro Town Hall.

Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the White Funeral Chapel, Townshend.
