CHESTER - Francis W. "Mike" Delaney, 87, of Chester, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at home, following a long illness. He was predeceased by his wife Carole Ann (Lombardo) Delaney in 1997.

He was born in Hudson, New York, on Oct. 31, 1924, son of William and Ethel (Travis) Delaney, and attended schools there.
"Mike" owned and operated Delaney's Country Girl Diner in Chester for many years.
He was a fan of antique cars, and loved touring in his 30 Model A. He was an active member of Yesteryears Motorcar Club.
Survivors include three sons, William Delaney of Connecticut, and Peter Delaney and Shawn Delaney, both of Chester; two daughters, Karen Johnson and Katie Lemery of Connecticut; his companion, Patricia Peltier; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
There are no visiting hours. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at a time to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Hospice of VT and NH, Grace Cottage Hospital, or Yesteryears Motorcar Club.
Adams Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting the family with the arrangements.
