BENNINGTON - William G. Vose, 73, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.

He was born Aug. 7, 1940, in Bennington, the son of William M. Vose and Dorothy "Dot" (Jordan) Vose.

He received his education in Bennington, and was a 1959 graduate of Bennington Catholic High School.

After high school, he served in the Vermont National Guard.

In earlier years, he was employed at Economy Graphics, then did concrete work for Dave Moriarty. He later worked at Tansitor Electronics, from where he retired.

He enjoyed traveling, and, in retirement, he converted a mini-bus into a travel trailer and drove around the country. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, playing cribbage, watching football and talking politics. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.

Survivors include his children, Lynn of Fort Edward, N.Y., and a son, Tsion (Billy) of Bennington; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Gail Harbour of Bennington; his best friend, Ginger Baker; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Eva Jacobsen.

The funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, from Mahar and Son Funeral Home, with a prayer and then, at 10 a.m., from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington, when the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.

Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery in North Bennington.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16.
