BENNINGTON - Frances M. Stockman, 91, died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at her residence.

She was born June 6, 1922, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Charles D. and Frances E. (Palmer) Quirk.
She graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in Davenport, Iowa.
She married Chester E. Stockman, Oct. 25, 1941, in Chicago, Ill. He died Oct. 3, 2013.
She was employed as a bookkeeper for the Garrison Corp., and later at H.M. Tuttle in Bennington.
She was a member of the Bennington Lions Club and the Bennington Friends of the Retarded.
She taught religious education and was a member of the Liturgical Council at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church.
In earlier years, she was a volunteer with the Girl Scouts.
She enjoyed reading and playing bridge.
Survivors include three children: Ruth E. "Betsy" Rattelle of Bennington, Eileen S. Dick of Rutland and George B. Stockman of Collierville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; a daughter, Frances Judy Sinclair; a son, William Joseph Stockman; a sister, Ruth Myers; and two brothers, Arthur and Charles Quirk.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 11, at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington.
