WILDER - Edward G. Chesbro, 74, of 76 Colonial Drive, #27, in Wilder, died peacefully at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center with loving wife, Terry, at this side on Thursday, June 5, 2014.

He was born January 14, 1942, son of George and Agnes (Sorrentino) Chesbro in Castleton, Vermont, where he grew up. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged after his tour of duty.

He had a varied career over forty years in the trucking industry, starting with livestock transport and haulage of many other goods including auto parts and tires, most recently for K&W Tire of White River Junction.

He and wife, Terry, were also business owners of the Lucky Clover Laundromat in Springfield, VT. He had a passion for small wooden toys that he personally crafted using his woodworking talents, especially dollhouses and small trucks.

He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed creating his own fly-fishing ties and spent many seasons on Lake Bomoseen in western Vermont.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Terry Ann, and sisters Mary Dayton of Rutland, VT, and Winifred Mason (Donald) of Fair Haven. He is predeceased by his son, Michael, and stepsons Allen and Christopher (Chipper) Peavey. He is survived by stepdaughter, Lisa Hinson, and stepson, Joel Peavey, four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at the Knight Funeral Home at 903 Hartford Ave (U.S. Route 5) in White River Junction, Vermont, on Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Gifts in his memory may be made to The Diabetes Program at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
