CHARLESTOWN, N.H. - Linda L. Westney, 66, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014.

She was born Oct. 15, 1947, in Springfield, Vt. the daughter of Arthur and Hazel Ploof. She attended Springfield schools and graduated from Springfield High School in 1965.

On April 18, 1971, she married Eldred A. Westney in Ascutney, Vt.

She was employed for many years in file management for the Boy Scouts of America Distribution Center and American Aircraft Carrier Support. She worked as a housekeeper and as a cashier at P&C Supermarket. She worked for the Rutland Herald and most recently worked as a certified tax preparer at the Claremont Senior Center.

She is survived by her husband, Eldred, of Charlestown, N.H.; by one son, Robert L. Westney of Quaker Town, Penn.; by two daughters, Kathleen A. Sullivan of Belchertown, Mass., and Cynthia L. Westney of Walpole, N.H.; by four grandchildren, one great-grandson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is also survived by her brother, Arthur Ploof of East Portland, Maine; and four sisters, Gloria Fiske of Chino, Calif., Katherine Woodbury of Athens, Vt., Goldie Cook of Chester, Vt., and Loretta Benware of White River Junction, Vt.

She was predeceased by one son, James E. Westney, in 2013 and one sister, Shirley Escribano.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at Berean Baptist Church in Newport, N.H. The Rev. George Barbour, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Springfield, Vt.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, Vt.
