TOWNSHEND - Katelyn Rose McFadden, age 20, born in Brattleboro, Vt., on November 29, 1993, passed away on August 20, 2014, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

Katelyn went to Newfane Elementary School, then on to Leland & Gray Union High School. Although she did not graduate, she was currently working on getting her diploma. Katelyn spent a few winters working at the Stratton Mountain Inn. She enjoyed working in the kitchen, as well as being a hostess.

Katelyn loved family gatherings, horses, all animals big and small, dance and music. She enjoyed volleyball, basketball and baseball. She was an avid Red Sox fan (against her father's wishes). In many ways, she had an untamable spirit. Katelyn was a beautiful young woman. She could light up a room with her bright smile and make you feel warm inside. She loved her family and will always be loved by them.

Katelyn is survived by her grandmother, Janice Bills, her grandfather, James D. McFadden; mother and father, Wendy L. McFadden and Kenneth G. McFadden; her brothers, Mark S. Archer Jr., Corey L. Archer, Nathan K. Archer and wife Elizabeth, Stephen P. Collins Jr., Kenneth (Albert) McFadden and Jimmy Mills; her sister, Erica Cullum and husband Rob; her nephews and nieces, Kenneth W. Archer, Onaialee Archer, Tiffany Cullum, William Cullum, Darien Archer, Natalie Archer, Jazlyne Archer and Brydon Archer; many aunts, uncles, and cousins by the dozens.

Katelyn was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Christie L. Archer, with whom she shared a special relationship. Christie Archer and Katelyn where very close for many years. After Christie's death, Katelyn became a big advocator of her scholarship, which provides tuition for students with special needs who would benefit from attending the Mountain School at Winhall.

Rest in peace, we all love you and will hold you close in our hearts forever.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the White Funeral Chapel, 1956 Route 30, Townshend. A graveside service in celebration of her life will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakwood Cemetery, Townshend, with the Rev. Dr. Duffy Johnson, pastor of the Windham Community Chapel of Dummerston, officiating.
