Harold J. "Joe" Harrison, 82, of Rutland, died April 10, 2011, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Rutland, Feb. 14, 1929, the son of John W. and Florence (Roussil) Harrison.

He was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy and a U.S. Army, Korean War veteran.

Mr. Harrison was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for many years.

He was a member of Christ the King Church, Rutland American Legion Post 31, VFW and Eagles Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Nelson of Rutland; two brothers, Bill Harrison of Maryland and Robert Harrison of Rutland; and two sisters, Carole Yakunovich of Proctor and Marie Patterson of Rutland.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary J. (Ostrowski) Harrison, in 1998; a son, Harold "Jay" Harrison Jr., in 2004; a sister, Patricia DiGangi; and a brother, James Harrison.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
