HUDSON FALLS, N.Y. - Harold A. "PaPa" Belden, 75, passed on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at his home, after an extended illness.

Harold was born October 31, 1936, in Cornwall, Vermont, to the late Hazel Barrett Belden and Ernest Belden.
After graduation in Fair Haven, Vt., Harold left home to join the United States Marine Corps, and returned to run the family dairy farm in Benson, Vt., for thirty years.
In 1961, Harold met the love of his life "Tiger Jan" at the Brandon, VT, A&W Drive-In, and never left her side for the remainder of his life. Together they moved to Hudson Falls, enjoyed many good times and raised their family.
Harold loved old cars, especially '57 Chevys, wheel horse tractors, hunting, baseball, spending time maintaining his yard, bowling and watching TV with his little dog Sadie.
He was a quiet, soft-spoken man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, and will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.
In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by his daughter April Lynn, his sisters, Dorothy Perkins and Helen McPhee, his brothers-in-law, Phillip Masse, Wilson Kinney, Elwin Perkins and Fred McPhee.
Missing him are his wife of 50 years, Janet Higgins Belden; their two children: Robin Dornan and her husband Michael of Fort Ann, and Tinia Belden Barber and her husband Chris of Port Orange, FL; his sisters, Ruth (Ed) Porter of Summerfield, FL, Barbara (Harold) White of Fair Haven, VT, Elizabeth Kinney of Castleton, VT, Florence (Richard) Haynes of Poultney, VT, Mary Masse of Riverview, FL, and Virginia (Richard) Currier of Whitehall; a sister-in-law, Catherine Smith and her husband Edward of Canajoharie; his grandchildren Jack and Josh Dornan of Fort Ann, and Shaun Barber of Port Orange, FL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.
A prayer will follow the calling hours at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
