William P. Mangan, 69, died Oct. 28, 2012, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in White River Junction.

He was born in Rutland, May 14, 1943, son of William R. and Marion (Payne) Mangan.

Bill was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy and the University of Vermont.

He was a U.S. Army captain and Vietnam War veteran.

Bill was manager of Walsh Electrical Wholesale in Rutland for 26 years.

Surviving are his wife, Low (Small) Mangan of Rutland; son, Scott Mangan and wife Michelle (Larose) Mangan of Rutland; daughters, Cherie Fox and husband Danny of Indianapolis, Ind., and Raphaella of Heaven; four grandchildren who were the joy of his life, Liam and Emma Rose Mangan, Madison and Tyler Fox.

Per Bill's wishes, a celebration of his life for family and close friends will begin promptly at 12 noon on Friday at South Station Restaurant.
