BENNINGTON - John P. LaCroix, 59, of West Palm Beach, Fla., and formerly of Bennington, died Feb. 22, 2013.
He was born Jan. 21, 1954, in Bennington, the son of Roland and Margaret (Gleason) LaCroix.
He graduated in 1972 from Mount Anthony Union High School and in 1976 from SUNY Cobleskill, N.Y., with a degree in horticulture.
Mr. LaCroix pursued his horticulture/landscape career in Florida.
He was an avid baseball fan, coached the West Palm Beach (Fla.) Stars and won the 1998 Cooperstown (N.Y.) Little League series. He also enjoyed blues music.
Survivors include his mother of Bennington; his wife, Cynthia, and stepdaughter, Sarah Carroll, both of Lantana, Fla.; two sons, Preston of Wellington, Fla., and Roland of Asheville, N.C.; five siblings, Joseph of Bennington, James of Reno, Nev., Jeff of Hollis, N.H., Andre of Loxahatchee, Fla., and Peg Caron of White Creek, N.Y.; a granddaughter; nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his father.
The funeral will begin with a prayer at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 4, at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, followed by the Mass at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 3, at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Village Cemetery
