WEST RUTLAND - Joseph Girardi, 81, of West Rutland, died Friday, April 5, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Cervinara, Italy, on Aug. 3, 1931, the son of Gennaro and Francesca (Bellerosa) Girardi.
In 1958, he moved from Italy to Venezuela, where he was a representative for Firestone Tire Co., and in 1961 he moved to Vermont.
On Jan. 9, 1983, he married Annarita (Oropallo) Girardi.
Mr. Girardi was employed at Howe Richardson Scale Co. and was a carpenter.
He was a member of the Italian American Club and the Italian Aid Society. He enjoyed playing cards and bocce.
Surviving are his wife, Anna, of West Rutland; four daughters, Francesca Girardi Coombs of West Rutland, Rina Girardi of Rutland, Maria Girardi Donahue of Rutland and Antonietta Girardi of West Rutland; two brothers, Pasquale Girardi of Rome, Italy, and Michele Girardi of Cervinara, Italy; one sister, Carmela Gallo of Albany, N.Y.; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Bridget's Church in West Rutland. Officiating will be the Rev. Vincent Coppola, pastor.
A reception will follow.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, April 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bridget's Church.
