PITTSFIELD - Joyce Rooker Fifield, 89, a longtime resident of Pittsfield and formerly of Fair Haven, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 14, 1924, in Fair Haven, the daughter of Leroy and Irena (Weller) Rooker.
She attended Fair Haven High School.
She married Richard "Dick" Fifield on May 9, 1970.
She was employed as a court officer by the Rutland County Sheriffs Department for many years, retiring in 1985.
She was a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames of Vermont, Veterans of Foreign War Unit #648 in Rutland, and the Vermont Chapter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Richard "Dick" Fifield of Pittsfield; two sons, Neil Belden of Fair Haven, and Scott Belden of Benson; four grandsons, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Donald Belden; a grandson, Neil Belden Jr.; two sisters, Joan LaFountain and Jean Bruso; and two brothers, Francis Rooker and Howard Rooker.
Graveside services will be at a later date in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Durfee Funeral Home, 119 North Main St., Fair Haven.
