Frank J. Caggige, 91, of Rutland died Monday, October 14, 2013, at his home

He was born in Rutland October 9, 1922, the son of Guiseppi and Dominica (Zingale) Caggige.

Frank was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy class of 1941 and attended the University of Vermont.

He was a World War II U.S. Marine veteran serving in Okinawa.

In 1948, Frank was married to Julia (Smith) Caggige and enjoyed 65 years together.

Frank was employed in the Electrical Maintenance Department at Central Vermont Public Service for 41 years, retiring in 1987 as superintendent of electrical maintenance.

He enjoyed his family, Red Sox and Boston Celtics.

He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #31, a lifelong member of the Eagles Club, a Fourth-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #232, the American Sicilian Club and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and the Proctor-Pittsford Country Club.

Surviving are his wife, Julia Judy Caggige of Rutland; two daughters, Jan C. Esposito and her husband Gene of Rutland and Sally J. Edmonds and her husband John of Neptune, N.J.; a son, David J. Caggige of Rutland; six grandchildren, Mark (Celina) Edmonds, Keith (Sandra) Edmonds, Joy (Brian) Siciliano, Jill (Manning) Smith, Curt Esposito and Michael Esposito; three great-grandchildren, Andrew Esposito, Aaden Edmonds and Sophie Edmonds; nieces nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a sister, Carmela C. Fothergill, and by five brothers, Raphael, Vincent, Mariano, Alfred and Joseph Caggige.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Rutland. Officiating will be the Rev. Daniel Lokanga, pastor.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
