WOODSTOCK - Lawrence H. Woodward, 87, died Dec. 24, 2013, at the Homestead in Woodstock.

He was born in Woodstock Sept. 1, 1926, the son of John and Cyrena (Hoisington) Woodward.
He went to work at the Bridgewater Woolen Mill at a young age and then had a 27-year career employed by Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. In later years, he worked for the Quechee Gorge area, the Radisson Hotel and Bentley's restaurant.
Mr. Woodward was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and also enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, trips to the horse races and Foxwoods.
Survivors include nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, including Justin Woodward.
He was predeceased by nine siblings, Floyd, Wallace, "Samie," George and Alfred Woodward and Pauline, Marion, Ethel and Mabel.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock, where calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27.
Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Bridgewater.
