READING - Patricia L. Barton, 56, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at her home in Reading.

She was born Sept. 16, 1957, in Hanover, N.H., the daughter of David and Edna (Townsend) Luce.
She graduated from Woodstock Union High School in 1975.
She worked at Springfield Savings and Loan for 17 years as a secretary/treasurer, the Parks & Wilson Co. in Springfield, the Rockingham Country Club, and most recently as a manager for the Woodstock Cookie Co. She also catered weddings and other special occasions.
She enjoyed bowling, hunting and knitting.
Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Edwin "Jigger" Barton of Reading; four children: Dan Schaefer of Pomfret, Lisa Gibbons and Tylar Barton, both of Springfield, and Travis Barton of Perkinsville; eight grandchildren; her parents, David and Edna Luce of Pomfret; a sister, Louise Blakney of Barnard; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Springfield Elks Club. Burial will be in Reading at a later date, to be announced.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock.
