Cousin Joe I often think about how you and my Dad (Sam Smith) would have lunch or dinner together whenever you were in the Chicago area. He always looked forward to it. Dad passed away in 1998 but you always kept in touch in my Mom. Rest in peace dear cousin. You will be missed.

Dr. Lash had a wonderfully giving nature. The donation of his time and expertise through SPIRIT helped countless uninsured patients in our community. He was always ready to help and always had a smile on his face! He will be missed.

So sorry my dear Uncle Joe has passed away. He always was kind in my growing up years and also to my husband and children, always welcoming us into his home. Rest in peace.

A fine man with a giving heart, and one heck of a cyclist! The world would be a better place if more people had the attributes Joe shared in his daily life. He will be missed, but now is at peace after a battle off and on with Lymphoma. I hope his family will grieve in their own time, and one day the only residue of the loss will be a smile on their lips as they recall the love and joy he brought to others.

Dr. Lash was a wonderful doctor. I saw him many years ago for allergies and was immediately made comfortable by his compassionate manner. I am so sorry for your loss. Sincerely. Kathy Smith

My dear friend Dr. Joe Lash, God called you home and that explains why you didn't answer the telephone when I called you last week. You are in a better place now, we all know that, even though we grieve and mourn your passing. Thanks for the memories and the privilege of being your friend. Thank you for the book you authored that you recently gave me with your autograph for a great keepsake.
My wife Elizabeth and I pray for the Lash Family as they grieve and mourn your physical passing knowing that they truly must find consolation in knowing that Dr. Lash gone home to his Heavenly Father for eternal rest.
May perpetual light shine upon his soul and may his soul and the souls of all the faitfully departed through the mercy of God rest in eternal peace, Amen.
