MARINO, Albert Anthony
From Auburn, CA, passed away November 10, 2012.
Al (Chick) aka Poppy is survived by his loving wife and family, Dixie and five children Chris, Greg, Toni, Juli, Andy, 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Al will be dearly missed.
Born July 11, 1925 in Long Island, NY to Frances Montalto and Salvatore Marino.
A decorated World War II Army Veteran, he received two bronze stars and a silver star for bravery above and beyond the call of duty.
He married Dixie Lee Morris in 1949. Al Graduated UCLA with a BA in Public Health in 1950. Al and Dixie lived and raised their family in Auburn, California. Al worked in the Environmental Health arena for over 50 years. Al played a key role in the environmental concerns of the 1960 Olympics. As Chief of Environmental Health for Placer County, Al's input was instrumental in Lake Tahoe environmental issues.
A private burial ceremony was held in Newcastle Cemetery. A celebration of Life will be announced and held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation to the charity of your choice.
