You've been on my mind a lot lately. I'll never forget the letters we used to write while you were deployed, I have never been so proud and seen grandma so nervous. I still have the horse sleeping bag you got me, I'm going to give it to my daughter one day. I showed my son how to shoot army men off the stairs with rubber bands, just like you taught us. I only wish you could have met them, I always wonder what you would have said about some of my life choices, and its amazing to see how many lives you touched. I miss you!

Michael was a friend and fellow band member at C.K. McClatchy High School. He played alto saxophone. I remember his kind, caring, manner, humor and beautiful smile. Thank you, Mike, for your service to our country. You will always be remembered with a fond smile. Sincere condolences to David, who I knew at CKM, and the Groza family.

Michael was a friend and fellow bandmember at C.K. McClatchy in the early 1980's. He played alto saxophone. Michael was a gentle soul - quiet, humorous, caring, with a beautiful smile and kind manner. I remember him fondly and am so sorry to hear of his passing. Sincere condolences to David, who I knew at the same time, and the Groza family.

Met Mike at Sacramento City College, in 1987. Long curly hair, dressed in nice clothes with his Louis Vuitton duffle bag. We studied and joked around, in the library. He drove blue Mazda RX7, he loved that car. His friend Jesse let him borrow a U2 Joshua Tree cassette. With that smile, knodding his head, he would sing Still Haven't Found. He partnered up with a friend and opened a video store in Downtown. Last time I saw him, he told me to watch a great movie, Hamburger Hill. Great guy, great memories.

As a former colleague of Mikes for many years, I am proud to say I served with him. He was the epitome of professionalism and made those around him better. Mike was one you would never have to worry about...double/triple check his lesson plan to insure the most up-to-date doctrine was available to those he taught.
I had many good times with Mike, too many to mention. Countless hours of laughter, he was a great man.
May you rest forever peacefully in His eternal kingdom.

As a former colleague of Mike's, I can say that in the many many years I served with him he was the epitome of a soldier! "Squared away" as we in the business put it. Double/triple check his work before instructing as to insure the doctrine was adhered to.
He was a great friend of mine with whom I shared many laughs. I will miss you Mike! May you rest in peace on His eternal kingdom.....Sharpen the Edge

I join with many others who knew SFC Groza in offering our deepest sympathy on his depart. I hope you can find peace and comfort knowing that his loss
is felt by many around this nation. He'll be remembered in my mind as a gentle, caring person who could always be depended on, who loved his country and his job serving in the U.S. Army. I'll always smile when I think about the times we shared. They may be small in life's definition, but I can still hear him when I'd answer the phone:"Hey Apryl, this is Groza." He really made a person feel at ease and at comfort
In sympathy,

Mike I hope you know how much you are loved. Thank you for being a good friend. Thank you for serving our country. You will never be forgotten.
I found this today and found comfort.
"Our friend died on his own battlefield. He was killed in action fighting a civil war. He fought against adversaries that were as real to him as his casket is real to us. They were powerful adversaries. They took toll of his energies and endurance. They exhausted the last vestiges of his courage and strength. At last these adversaries overwhelmed him. And it appeared that he lost the war. But did he? I see a host of victories that he has won!
For one thing -- he has won our admiration -- because even if he lost the war, we give him credit for his bravery on the battlefield. And we give him credit for the courage and pride and hope that he used as his weapons as long as he could. We shall remember not his death, but his daily victories gained through his kindnesses and thoughtfulness, through his love for family and friends, for all things beautiful, lovely and honorable. We shall remember the many days that he was victorious over overwhelming odds. We shall remember not the years we thought he had left, but the intensity with which he lived the years he had!
Only God knows what this child of His suffered in the silent skirmishes that took place in his soul. But our consolation is that God does know and understands!" Rev. Warren Stevens
