Ruth Genovese Obituary

Ruth H. Genovese (87) of Fair Oaks passed away peacefully on Feb.1st, surrounded by her family.Ruth was born to Henry and Mabel Petersen on Sept. 15, 1925 in Fargo, North Dakota and was raised in Wolverton, Minnesota. She was the oldest of four siblings. Ruth met the love of her life Tom, her husband of 65 years, at a dance in Fargo. She is survived by four of her five children, Jeff, Mike, Craig and daughter Mary Gibbs: along with daughter in laws Tamara & Barbara and son in law Dr. Herbert Gibbs. She will also be remembered and cherished by her 6 grandchildren, Melissa, Jennifer, Kimberly, Thomas, Vincent & Nicolette, as well as Harold Petersen, her brother. Ruth was a stubborn Norwegian, but also a warm and kind person who was the glue that held our family together. She will be missed by all of those whose lives she touched. She joins her husband, Tom, along with Stevie, her first son and Elaine and Bud, her siblings, in God's loving arms. There will be a celebration of her life at 11AM on Friday, Feb. 8th, at Fair Oaks Cemetery, located at 7780 Olive St. in Fair Oaks.
