BRIONES, Ponciano David
Born in Pampanga, Philippines, to Roberto and Francisca (David) on August 13, 1921. Ponciano passed away peacefully with loved ones on September 28, 2012. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Maria (Sanchez). Ponciano and Maria successfully and proudly raised not only their three children, but also 13 of their nephews and nieces. The dedicated couple immigrated to the United States in 1979, settling in the Sacramento area, where Ponciano worked for over 12 years before retiring in 1991. Being a consummate craftsman, Ponciano loved building structures, fixtures, and home improvements, and readily helped families and friends on theirs. Survived by sons Wilfredo, Herminito, and Remelito; daughters-in-law Marlene (Necesito), Eloisa (Galang), and Asuncion (Alberto); grandchildren / grandchildren-in-law Maricris / Rich Hansen, Jennifer / Anthony Hassan, Jonathan / Kamber (Williams), Wilfred Marlon, Wilma Nathalie, Kristen, Geraldine, Kathleen, and Jacqueline; great-grandchildren Jack and Samuel Hansen; Mason Woo and Lilian Eloisa Briones; and Ryker Hassan. Also survived by brothers / sisters-in-law Jose / Gertrudes (Ramos) and Marcelino / Ruth (Siron), sister Teresita Mendoza, and loving nephews and nieces and their families. He had three deceased sisters and four deceased brothers-in-law. Viewing services will be on Thursday and Friday, October 4th and 5th, from 4 to 8 PM, at East Lawn Mortuary, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento. Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 6th, starting with a mass at 11:30 AM, at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 7101 Verner Ave., Sacramento, CA.
